Mercedes-Benz — Rollaway risk from corroded door switch (Recall 26V481, 310,667 vehicles)
Affected: 2019–2022 A-Class · 2020–2021 CLA · 2022–2023 C-Class · 2024 CLE · 2020–2026 GLA and GLB · 2023–2024 GLC (including all AMG variants)
Risk: A microswitch inside the driver's door lock can corrode over time. When it fails, the car no longer detects whether the driver's door has opened. The electronic parking brake and Auto-Park feature depend on that door signal to engage automatically — so if the switch is corroded, the parking brake may not engage after the driver exits, leaving the vehicle unsecured against rolling away.
How to tell if your switch may be failing: Mercedes notes that a tell-tale sign is the radio remaining on after you exit the vehicle instead of turning off automatically when the driver's door opens. If you notice this behavior, contact your dealer immediately.
Important note: Mercedes estimates 100% of the recall population carries the defect. Mercedes-Benz has logged 176 field cases in the US (all comfort-function related) but is not aware of any rollaway incidents in the United States so far.
Fix: Dealers will replace the driver door lock with a unit containing a corrosion-resistant microswitch. This is a physical parts replacement — not a software update. Owner notification letters are expected September 18, 2026. VINs became searchable on NHTSA.gov on July 31, 2026.

Chevrolet Silverado EV & GMC Sierra EV — Cracked steel wheels (952 vehicles)
Affected: 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV and 2026 GMC Sierra EV equipped with steel road wheels (RPO code RT3) and/or steel spare wheel (RPO code SG8). Produced between October 24, 2025 and March 13, 2026.
Risk: Supplier Topy America discovered during routine fatigue testing that the manufacturing process used to form the vent holes in the steel wheel discs was improperly adjusted, creating hairline cracks at the outer ring of those vent holes. Left undetected, a crack can propagate and lead to disc separation — causing reduced steering control and a real crash risk.
GM estimates 74% of affected vehicles actually have the defect.
Fix: Dealers will inspect the spare and all four road wheels. Wheels from suspect manufacturing lots will be replaced at no cost. Vehicles that pass inspection need no additional repair.

Chevrolet Silverado EV, GMC Sierra EV & Cadillac Escalade IQ/IQL — High-voltage battery fire risk (10 vehicles)
Affected: Certain 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQ and IQL, 2026 GMC Sierra EV, and 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV
Risk: The high-voltage battery may have an improperly secured internal module component. A loose component may move and damage the battery, increasing the risk of a fire.
Note: Only 10 vehicles are affected — this is a very small-population recall. No park-outside advisory has been issued.
Fix: Dealers will replace the high-voltage battery free of charge. Owner letters expected September 14, 2026.

Ford F-150 & F-250 — Rearview camera blocked by infotainment menu (47,587 vehicles)
Affected: 2021–2023 Ford F-150 and 2023–2026 Ford F-250 Super Duty equipped with 8-inch SYNC infotainment screens
Risk: A software error may cause the rearview camera image to be obscured by the infotainment home screen menu when the vehicle is placed in reverse — violating FMVSS No. 111 (Rear Visibility). A driver who cannot see behind the vehicle when reversing faces increased crash risk.
Fix: Dealers will update the APIM (accessory protocol interface module) software. An over-the-air update may also be available. Owner notification letters expected August 17, 2026.
