1. Acceptance of terms
By using MyOBDCode.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We may update these terms from time to time — continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of any changes.
2. Use of the service
MyOBDCode provides free automotive diagnostic tools including OBD-II code lookup, VIN decoding, and NHTSA recall checking. These tools are provided for informational purposes only. You may use them for personal, non-commercial use. You may not scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the site without written permission.
3. Accuracy of information
OBD-II code data, VIN decode results, and recall information are provided in good faith but may not always be accurate, complete, or up to date. VIN and recall data is sourced directly from NHTSA's public API and is as accurate as that source. MyOBDCode is not a substitute for professional mechanical diagnosis. Always consult a qualified mechanic before making repair decisions.
4. Affiliate and sponsored links
Some links on MyOBDCode — including parts links (Amazon), shop booking (RepairSmith), and insurance comparison (EverQuote) — are affiliate or sponsored links. We may earn a commission when you click and make a purchase or complete a form. This is clearly labeled as 'Sponsored' on all placements. Affiliate relationships do not affect the order of search results or the content of code lookups.
5. Paid reports
Full vehicle history reports are available for purchase at $9.99. These are fulfilled by third-party data providers. MyOBDCode does not guarantee the completeness or accuracy of paid report data. All purchases are final unless the report fails to generate, in which case a full refund will be issued.
6. Intellectual property
The MyOBDCode brand, design, and any original content on this site are owned by StormGlass Interactive. OBD-II codes and NHTSA data are in the public domain. You may share individual code results for personal use but may not reproduce or republish the site's content in bulk without permission.
7. Limitation of liability
MyOBDCode is provided 'as is' without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from use of the site, reliance on its information, or any repair decisions made based on MyOBDCode results. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed $10.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration rather than in court, except for claims that qualify for small claims court.
