Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Warning

⚠️ Fix soonamber light
What it means

The diesel particulate filter is becoming clogged with soot. The DPF self-cleans through a process called regeneration — but only at highway speeds for sustained periods. Short-trip city driving prevents regeneration.

What to do
  1. 1Take the vehicle on a 20–30 minute highway drive at 60+ mph to initiate active regeneration
  2. 2Do not ignore — a completely blocked DPF requires expensive forced regeneration ($300–$700+)
  3. 3If light stays on after highway driving, the DPF may need professional forced regeneration
  4. 4Avoid turning the engine off during regeneration — the exhaust gets very hot
